Department of Animated Film
The Department of Animated Film of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb educates new generations of contemporary authors, visual artists and animators. The study is designed so that students in the first three years (BA) acquire professional skills and knowledge to work on various projects such as animated films, educational and commissioned films, video games and illustrations, while in the graduate study (MA) they develop their artistic and authorial personality as directors of animated films or artists who use animation media in their work. The program includes 2D classical and digital animation, 3D and experimental animation, providing a wide range of techniques and visual media. The Department is well connected with professional institutions such as Animafest Zagreb, Zagreb Film, HAVC and ASIFA Croatia, and encourages students to participate in workshops, study trips and international animated film festivals.
The department employs six teachers in artistic and teaching titles, a lecturer and one expert associate.
Each year has its own class for work, the department is well equipped with graphic tablets and drawing monitors, animation tables, cameras, lighting, sound microphones, projectors, speakers, computers and professional animation, image and sound processing programs.
