Image - Text - Sound

Modern, and especially contemporary artists, often strived to integrate different expressions, experiences and sensations in their works. Cubists already inserted elements of typography into paintings, and many performances included some form of sound expression. The relationships between the elements of image, sound and text in works of art were very diverse and numerous. Also interesting are the parallels, influences and connections between different artistic fields: music and art or art and literature.

The ALU Library has several publications dealing with the relationship between image, sound and text. In addition to those that explore and show the connections between the arts in certain periods, through the presentation of works that were created in collaboration between authors from different fields or works in which the authors united various elements of artistic expression, to semiological analyses and essays on individual works.
