Who do we work with?

The University Graduate Study of Fine Arts is carried out in cooperation with a wide network of domestic and international social and cultural institutions. Such an approach enables students to connect art education with the contemporary social, cultural and professional context. Collaborations represent an important part of the activities of the Teaching Department of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb and contribute to the development of teaching, research and artistic activities of the study.

The study is realized in cooperation with the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb, through joint courses and linking artistic practice and theory. Such an interdisciplinary model enables students to develop a broader understanding of contemporary art, visual culture and educational processes.

The Teaching Department collaborates with numerous galleries, museums, schools, cultural centers, art organizations and civil society organizations in Croatia and abroad. Through exhibitions, workshops, research and socially engaged projects, students participate in concrete forms of cooperation with the community and develop the experience of working in different professional environments. Special emphasis is placed on connecting art, education and social responsibility.

The study is also aimed at strengthening international cooperation through Erasmus+ programs, bilateral collaborations and international artistic research projects. Student and teacher mobility is an important part of the development of the study because it enables the exchange of knowledge, learning about different educational and artistic models and connecting with the international artistic and academic environment.

Within the development of new workshops, research platforms and programs of contemporary art pedagogies, collaborations with the field of technology, science and interdisciplinary art practices are also realized.   Such collaborations enable students to work on contemporary topics and projects that connect art, education and social processes.

Collaborative work models encourage students to actively participate in artistic, research and educational initiatives and to develop professional competencies important for action in the field of culture, art, education and creative industries.

The course in the group of Methodology of Fine Arts is carried out in cooperation with a number of schools and other institutions. Students go to the training schools, for observations, hold classes and conduct graduate research. Cooperation has been established with a number of schools in Zagreb and Croatia, and teaching and research are currently being carried out in the P. MandŠkine Elementary Schools, M. Laginje Elementary School, T. Ujević Elementary School, Trnsko Elementary School, I. Kršnajvi Elementary School and the School of Applied Arts and Design (ŠPUD).
