In Zagreb, at the age of 67, after a short and serious illness, Ivan Ladislav Galeta passed away.

Ivan Ladislav Galeta founded the New Media department at our Department and in his many years of work he inspired generations of students. He was one of the few artists-pedagogues who opened up their souls, hearts, and visions to students. His lectures, which were attended by students not only from our department, but from the entire Academy and other faculties, changed the world for students.

He seduced Galet furiously, uncompromisingly, endlessly. Alone in love with the film, inside and outside the frame, generations of students fell in love with him, with him and with him.

The echoes of that love will forever vibrate within the walls of our lecture halls, in the works of our students, in graduate exams, in Department meetings, in new study programs, in Hollis Frampton screenings, in agreements, in misunderstandings, at first solo exhibitions, at last solo exhibitions.
