Awards and recognitions
The Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb continuously encourages and rewards excellence, creativity and dedicated work of its students and teachers. Through a system of awards and recognitions, we highlight top artistic achievements, research works and contribution to the academic and wider community.
Rector's Award of the University of Zagreb
The Rector's Award is awarded annually to students of the University of Zagreb for the best student scientific and artistic works, special competitive successes and socially useful work.

Categories: Independent artistic/scientific works, co-authored works, socially useful work in the academic and wider community, and special competitive successes.

Who can apply: All full-time students of undergraduate, graduate and integrated studies at the Academy of Fine Arts.

Application process: Applications are submitted via the online application of the University of Zagreb, with the subsequent submission of the necessary documentation to the ALU Secretariat according to the defined schedule.
Detailed instructions on the creation of an artistic/scientific map and accompanying documentation are published every year at the beginning of the summer semester.
Awards and recognitions of the Academy of Fine Arts
At the end of each academic year (traditionally on the occasion of the Academy Day), the Academy of Fine Arts awards its own awards to students who have distinguished themselves through exceptional artistic work and commitment.

Grand Prix of the Academy: It is awarded for the best graduate work or exceptional artistic achievement in the current academic year.

Annual awards of the department: Each department (Painting, Sculpture, Graphics, Teaching, Animation and New Media, Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art) awards commendations and awards to the most successful students of individual years of study.

Special Mentions: They are awarded for participation in group projects, exhibitions and field work of special importance to the Academy of Fine Arts.
