The Art Holdings and Collection of Student Works of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb is a professionally organized collection that preserves, documents and processes works of art and student works created during the Academy's activities. As a valuable part of the Academy's heritage, the Holdings testify to the development of its artistic and teaching activities and Croatian fine arts from the founding of the Academy to the present day.
The holdings include the Collection of Paintings and Drawings, the Collection of Sculptures, the Graphic Collection, the Collection of Donations and the Mediatheque. The material is continuously collected, inventoried, professionally processed and documented, with systematic care for its storage, preservation and protection. Professional documentation is kept about the collection, and its material is also used in the preparation of exhibitions and in teaching, professional and scientific research.
The Holdings are continuously supplemented and developed, and part of its collections is registered as a protected cultural heritage of the Republic of Croatia. In this way, the Holdings contribute to the preservation, research and accessibility of the artistic and educational heritage of the Academy and its connection with contemporary teaching, professional and research practices.
