Study Resources

The Department is well equipped with audiovisual technical equipment, which is renewed every year in accordance with the capabilities and needs of students (cameras, video cameras, sound recording and editing equipment, computers, lighting, projectors, monitors).

The premises of the Department include a photography laboratory, a media lab, an audio lab, a black box/project room, editing, a deaf room, a study room for working in materials.

Students have the opportunity to use classes/studios for work, laboratories and project spaces.

Venues

Classes

  • Each academic year has its own workspace for living and working.

The digital lab is equipped with 10 Mac computers and programs:

  • Adobe package: Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Audition...
  • DaVinci
  • Resolume Arena
  • Ableton is alive.

Studio 1 - Recording

  • A multi-purpose space for filming, photography, and performing. The space can be completely darkened.
  • The equipment includes flash lighting, photographic backgrounds, green screen, recording cameras and a projection screen.

Studio 2 - sound

  • Soundproofed space for recording in controlled conditions, equipped with a Mac computer and Ableton program.
  • The equipment includes different types of microphones, a Zoom portable recorder, a Launch Control XL controller/mixer, MIDI keyboards, headphones and speakers.

Photo lab

  • Space for developing analogue film and enlarging and developing photos.
  • The equipment includes emulsions for developing film and cameras for enlarging photos.

Studio 3 - Dirty

  • A space for manual work with materials. It is equipped with a workbench and tools for making sculptural parts of the work and for working with "dirty" materials.
  • The equipment includes drills, hammers, nails, sponges, wood, glass, trowels and other tools.

Studio 4 - Printaona

  • A space for manual work with clean materials. It is equipped with a workbench and work utensils.
  • The equipment includes a printer, sewing machines, cutters, papers and other accessories.
  • Scanner for 35mm film
  • Scanner for A4 documents
  • Colour printer up to A3

Project Room

  • A project space that can be used by appointment, especially when a larger space is required for work.

Studio for Social Practice

  • The workshop for social practice is intended for group work, research, reading, conversation and quiet individual work.
  • It includes a library, a reading room and an archive of works.

Two mounts

  • They are intended for individual work on image and/or sound. They are equipped with assembly computers and monitor speakers.

Accessories for working in materials

  • The department also has three sewing machines for the production of soft sculptural works, parts of installations or costumes for performances.
  • Brother and Singer sewing machines and basic sewing accessories are available.

Rental equipment

Students can borrow the equipment of the Department during their studies. Available equipment includes:

  • Digital cameras: Canon, Blackmagic, Sony, GoPro, Insta360
  • Projectors: Optoma and ViewSonic
  • Screens, computer monitors and CRT TVs
  • Sound recording equipment: Zoom recorders, contact microphones, directional microphones, earbuds...
  • Mixers, sound cards and headphones
  • Photo & Video Tripods & Lighting
  • Raspberry and media players
