Martina Meštrović

She was born in 1974. She graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts. She is the winner of the Rector's Award. She has exhibited at several solo and group exhibitions. In 2004 she joined the art collective Kreativni sindikat; since then she has been working on films as an animator and director. Her films have won multiple awards and screened at numerous international festivals: Animafest, Annecy, Ottawa, Sheffield Doc, Warsaw Film Festival, DOK Leipzig, PÖFF Shorts, Guanajuato, Tampere, Fantoche, DOK Leipzig and many others. In my work, I mainly focus on socio-social themes that I thread through various artistic fields from sculpture, installations and film. In filmmaking, I explore the possibilities of hybrid film, combining various animation techniques with documentary materials into film structures that try to erase the boundaries between film genres.

The fields of activity of the expert associate at the Department of Animated Film are production coordination between the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the Academy of Fine Arts, students and associates working on student films, distribution of films produced and co-financed by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre. The expert associate is involved in the organization of student professional trips and publishes content on social networks.
