Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2026
Time: 18:00
Location: Stage F22, Academy of Dramatic Art, Frankopanska 22, Zagreb

As part of the research and art project What is going on? (WIGO), dedicated to inclusion, epistemology of resistance and justice in the performing arts, literary and cultural theorist Željka Matijašević will hold a public lecture on the phenomenon of borderline culture.

The lecture will deal with the main characteristics of borderline culture and the ways in which it is intensified through pop culture. Special attention will be paid to the imperative of success and the fitting of intensity into the hedonistic and consumerist logic of late capitalism.

The lecture will be translated into Croatian Sign Language by Nives Gotovac and Nadija Lovreković, which further emphasizes the importance of accessibility and inclusion in public and artistic space.

We invite you to join us and participate in reflecting on contemporary cultural phenomena in the context of inclusion, resistance and justice in the performing arts.
