He was born on March 19, 1963 in Zagreb. He is a citizen of the Republic of Croatia. He attended the elementary school "Ivan Meštrović" in Zagreb. After graduating from the Secondary School of Graphic Arts, in 1983 he enrolled in the study of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied at the Department of Teacher Education with professors Nikola Koydl and Zlatko Keser, and graduated with Zlatko Kauzlarić Atač in 1997. He speaks English. From 1997 to 2003 he worked part-time as a teacher of drawing and painting at a private high school (Zagreb Art Gymnasium). Since 2004, he has been working as a senior assistant, since 2008 as an assistant professor, since 2012 as an associate professor and since 2018 as a full professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. From 2009 to 2011, he was the head of the Department of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts. From 1987 to 2005 he was a member of the Croatian Association of Artists. He is a member of the Croatian Association of Artists, and since 2006 he has been a member of Matica hrvatska. He participated as a volunteer in the Homeland War and was awarded the Homeland War Memorial, and for his exceptional contribution to culture he was awarded the Order of the Croatian Danica with the image of Marko Marulić. He has exhibited at several solo and group exhibitions in the country and abroad (Rome, Paris, Munich, New York, Berlin, etc.). He has won several awards. His works are in many private and public collections, including the holdings of the Modern Gallery, the Museum of Arts and Crafts, the Vukovar City Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art and others. He has participated in several charity public actions and exhibitions. He is married and has two children. He lives and works in Zagreb. 2019 – HPB Grand Prix, 5. In the formal and substantive sense, my painting is emphasized individually and narratively, and always stems from personal experiences with memory as the basic generator of inspiration.

The subject of painting is a specific curriculum that requires exclusively individual work with students and includes a number of knowledge and skills in its implementation, as well as knowledge of art history, philosophy of art and culture throughout history in general. Monitoring of recent events on the contemporary art scene as well as the latest theoretical research in the field of painting and art.

EXHIBITIONS/CYCLES: 2019 – "World Without Measure", Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb: 30 paintings of larger formats. Exhibition curator: Snježana Pintarić. Text: Vanja Babić 2015 – "Control of Illusion", Art Pavilion, Zagreb. The cycle contains 15 works: paintings, polyptychs and triptychs of larger dimensions (250 x 200 cm, 3 x 250 x 200 cm and polyptych 250 x 200 x 5 cm). All paintings are in oil on canvas technique. Authors of the texts in the catalogue: Olivier Kaeppelin and Jasminka Poklečki Stošić 2007. – 2009. – "Night Paintings", Glyptotheque of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Zagreb. Cutting grass in the form of schematized, geometrized human silhouettes (titans). Dimensions: 500 x 500 cm. Author of the text: Borivoj Popovčak 2001 – "Occupation", façade of the Museum of Arts and Crafts, Zagreb. The installation, intervention in space consists of 35 objects, reliefs in the form of silhouette figures (walkers) placed along the entire façade, i.e. the northern façade of the museum. The objects were made in a combined technique (styrofoam, glue, acrylic, oil, canvas, fabric, wood, metal). Dimensions: 250 x 250 x 10 cm. 1999 – "Paintings", Museum of Arts and Crafts, Zagreb. The cycle consists of one hundred (100) paintings of larger formats (200 x 150 cm, 200 x 190 cm, polyptychs: 190 x 690 cm, 195 x 660 cm). All paintings are made in the technique of oil on canvas. In addition to the paintings, five sculptures – objects (250 x 300 x 100 cm) are exhibited, combined technique: rubber, oil.
