Vida Meić

Vida Meić was born in 1991 in Čakovec. She graduated in graphics from the Department of Teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in 2017 in the class of Prof. Ines Krasić, with honors Summa cum laude. She has won numerous awards, including the NSK Graphic Collection Award, the MSU Award and the 2nd HPB Youth Salon Award, the Erste Grand Prix, the Ivan Kožarić Award and the Rector's Award. She has been exhibiting independently since 2016. She has exhibited at about thirty group exhibitions. Her works can be found in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Graphic Collection of the National and University Library, the Rovinj City Museum and the collection of Erste Bank. She is employed as an assistant at the Department of Teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts, where she is attending postgraduate doctoral studies.

In her artistic work, she explores temporality as a non-visual phenomenon, focusing on its subjective perception and sensory presence. In her graphic cycles, she finds a foothold on processuality and the flow of work, explores the expressive possibilities of graphic techniques, and puts special emphasis on the innovative potential of error and coincidence.

As part of the course in the field of graphics, students go through practical work aimed at exploring the expressive possibilities within different graphic techniques. The emphasis is on an individual approach, which includes the development of authorial ideas and the preparation of sketches in accordance with the technical and technological specifics of each technique.
