doc. mr. sc. Nikola Bojić

Nikola Bojić is an art historian and artist focused on exploring the relationship between space, technology and the future. He graduated in Art History and Museology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, and completed his postgraduate master's degree (Art, Design and the Public Domain) at the Graduate School of Design (GSD) at Harvard University. His projects have been exhibited at the Kunstahalle Baden Baden, as part of the Taipei Biennale, the Moderna Museum in Stockholm, the ZKM in Karlsruhe, the Venice Biennale of Architecture and the Milan Design Triennial. He was a PhD student at the Institute of Art History in Zagreb, engaged in the field of digital humanities and a guest lecturer at the MIT School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P), where he conceived and led the course (with Prof. Urbonas) Advanced Studio in Production of Space: New Models and Modeling as Practice (ACT program). He has published a number of original scientific and professional articles, book chapters, the artist's book Excavations, was the editor of the thematic issue of the journal Life of Art on the topic of experimental cartography and is an associate researcher in the Art, Culture and Technology (ACT) program at MIT. At the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb, he launched the international discursive program Research Practices in Art, Design and Architecture and is a founding member of the collaborative research platform remote-lab.org. He received his PhD from the University of Split, and his doctoral dissertation deals with the problems of spatial planning in Croatia from 1955 to 1975 from the perspective of Lefebvre's theory of space production.
