Marin Marinić

He was born in 1967 in Zagreb, where he attended the School of Applied Arts and graduated from the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb in 1993 in the class of Prof. Šime Vulas. He has exhibited at numerous solo and group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. He is the author of several public works, including the sculpture of the Croatian Journalistic Rock Award "Black Cat" in 1998 and 1999, the monument to Joe Strummer on Zagreb's Joe Strummer Square and the monument to the Fifth of November in Zagreb. He won the first prize of the Contemporane -- Salone d'Arte Moderna in Forlì, Italy (2002). He has worked on the restoration of many zero-category buildings, including the Zagreb Cathedral, and created scenographic elements for several films.

Artistic interests and fields of research encompass numerous materials, techniques and expressions. Focus on figurative sculpture and three-dimensional comics.

In the course Sculpture 1 she teaches students how to make casts of portraits and free forms, in Sculpture 2 she teaches how to make casts of large and small nudes and free forms, and in Sculpture 3 and 4 she assists in the execution of student works. In addition to the basic program within the Sculpture course and the Foundry Techniques course, she tries to experiment with students in different materials depending on their expression.
