Maja Bosnar

She was born in Novi Sad in 1971. She is an associate professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Arts in Belgrade, where she teaches the courses Methodology of Fine Arts in the third and fourth year of graduate studies at the Department of Theory, which have the status of a compulsory subject. In Zagreb, she is an external associate of the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, where she teaches the elective course Contemporary Visual Art in Methodical Practices. She received her artistic education in the field of fine arts – graphics, completing undergraduate and graduate studies, after which she obtained the title of Master of Graphics. She defended her doctoral dissertation in the field of methodological and didactic sciences of fine arts. So far, she has organized 14 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 70 collective exhibitions, as well as in artistic and scientific conferences and symposia at the national, regional and international level. She has organized a dozen methodological and didactic exhibitions of fine arts students in Novi Sad, Belgrade and Zagreb. In higher education, she is active through project teaching and interdisciplinary research, connecting inter-faculty cooperation between Zagreb and Belgrade with museological and gallery practice. She is the author of scientific and professional articles on the affirmation of fine and visual arts in formal education and on the work of visual artists with the audience. She has published a monographic publication New Media in the Teaching of Fine Arts in Gymnasiums and participated in the editing of the proceedings of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. She has been involved in art pedagogy since 1997, first in high school, and since 2004 she has been employed in higher education. She is a member of HDLU and ULUS, as well as the Croatian Cultural Center (HKC) in Belgrade. She works intensively on strengthening cultural and artistic cooperation between Belgrade and Zagreb. At the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 2022, she was appointed coordinator of cooperation with the University of Arts in Belgrade. He lives and works between Zagreb and Belgrade.

A narrow professional area of interest includes artistic practice within gallery and museological educational work. Special emphasis is placed on connecting fine and visual art in the educational process of formal, informal and informal education. The goal is to develop the skills of applying contemporary methodological approaches in the affirmation of the artist as an individual within public discourse and the empowerment of the audience through artistic experience.

At the Department of Theory at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Arts in Belgrade, dr. sc. Maja Bosnar is the head of undergraduate studies and teaches four compulsory courses in the third and fourth year: Methodology of Fine Arts 1, Methodology of Visual Arts 2, Methodical Practice 1 and Methodical Practice 2. These courses are attended by all students of all study programs. Teaching is focused on education.
