Lucija Žuti

Lucija Žuti was born in Varaždin. She works and lives in Zagreb. In 2018, she completed her undergraduate university study of Graphic Arts with Cum Laude honors at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, where she graduated in 2019 with the graduate study of Graphics with Magna Cum Laude. In 2023, he acquired the title of assistant professor, in the artistic field of fine arts, in the field of graphics. So far, she has exhibited in 10 solo and more than 30 group exhibitions. Since 2020, she has been a member of the Croatian Association of Artists.

She deals with conceptual art, and her main topics are the understanding of art as a religion and the influence of politics on everyday life. She takes references from other artists such as J. Beuys and C. Burden to domestic authors such as G. Trbuljak and M. Stilinović, and most often uses a combined technique (painting, photography, text, plaster, digital graphics). Her way of expressing herself is highlighted through humor and wit with which she speaks about everyday life. From emphasizing political connections through election campaign posters to environmental problems represented by installations of fallen trees. Her art has changed over time, so from the initial understanding of art as a religion, and the artist as a god, today she has replaced the artist with an ordinary person, and art with everyday work in a store.

Working with students in a mentoring class (Graphics 2 and 3 (BA), Grafika_(MA) Through mentoring work, I try to create a space for open communication, encourage a spirit of research and support students in developing their own artistic identity. Our work in the classroom is based on individual and group conversations, where we analyze concepts together and look for the most appropriate ways to realize it.
