prof. art. Josip Baće

He was born in 1966 in Dubrovnik. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Dubrovnik. In 1991, he interrupted his studies and voluntarily joined the National Guard Corps, where he remained until 1992. He participated in the Flash and Storm actions and was the holder of the Homeland War Memorial in 1991. In 1992, he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts. He graduated in 1996 from the Department of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in the class of Professor Ante Kuduz. After completing his studies, he was invited to the Kunstakademie in Dusseldorf, where he attended postgraduate studies in the class of Prof. Magdalena Jetelová. From 1998 to 2008, he worked as an external associate, and since 2008 as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts at the Department of Graphic Arts and at the Faculty of Architecture – design studies. From 2012 to 2014, he was the Vice-Dean for Administration at the Academy of Fine Arts and a member of several committees at the University of Zagreb. He has been exhibiting since 1990 and has had several solo exhibitions and participated in over fifty significant group exhibitions or authorial concepts in the country and abroad.
