Ivan Skvrce was born in 1980 in Dubrovnik, where he finished elementary school and the Luka Sorkočević Secondary Art School. Since 1999, he has been living and working in Zagreb. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 2003. In 2014, he completed his master's postgraduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. During his academic career, he participated in various educational and residential programs, improving his skills in the field of contemporary art and pedagogical work. In parallel with his artistic work, he has been actively involved in art education since 2003. He has taught at several educational institutions, and since 2016 he has been permanently employed at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he is currently an associate professor at the Department of Education. During his career, he was the leader of several significant projects related to art education and creativity, which he developed in cooperation with national and foreign educational, museum and NGO organizations. We highlight the projects "Academy on the Move" financed by the European Social Fund, where he coordinated the development of new occupational standards and qualifications in the field of painting; the development of a new MA study program "ART, SCIENCE AND HEALTH/ASH-MA", which is financed through the Erasmus project EMDM (European Joint Master Degree), "Runaway Art", "Remote Lab", "EMAP – European Media Art Platform", Bauhaus Ecologies. Since 2002, he has created an intensive exhibition opus with 30 solo and about a hundred group exhibitions in the country and abroad. Until 2007, he worked independently, and since then he has been working together with his colleagues Alan Alebić and Ivica Blažić as part of the ABS art group. He has received several awards for his work and his works are in collections in the country and abroad.

Through group activities, I focus on exploring singular and plural models of work in contemporary artistic and pedagogical production. Since 2007, I have been working as part of the ABS Group, which was formed as a critical platform within the material practice and political contradictions of Croatian contemporary painting, art and the potential of culture and society. The group was initially formed by initiating the critical potential of painting work, i.e. by initiating artistic activity as a symptom within contemporary Croatian society. The interest of the ABS Group is not pleasant or receptive civic painting or post-postmodern art in the era of the reconstitution of the national society and its civic Central European visual culture. The artistic activity of the ABS Group is realized and shown through images, actions, projects-as-symptoms that suggest an unpleasant and alienated atmosphere of critical or crisis situations within the conflicting political contemporaneity. A recent interest of the Group is practice in art that deals with the visibility of the model of participation in everyday life and its complexity. Insisting on working with someone else's perception of the world has the intention to place plurality and performativity in the field of visibility of institutional and subjective everyday life through action in existing social models.

As part of the 1N Drawing course, students analyze and connect the phases of the drawing process, using the basic concepts of visual language. Through practical classes, they apply wet and dry drawing techniques, experiment with different substrates and formats, and develop perspective display skills. The course prepares students for further work in painting, graphic and sculpture courses
