Virtual Exhibition - St. Jerome
The beginning of the new academic year. year: St. Jerome - patron saint of students, teachers and librarians -
St. Jerome's Day is celebrated on September 30. As a translator of the Bible, he is often depicted in painting surrounded by books or writing at his desk, often with a cardinal's red hat and cloak, but also as a hermit struggling in a desolate landscape, sometimes with a lion that he tamed when he took a thorn out of his paw.
The images presented on the Library website are dedicated to the topic of books, writing and reading and are set up for educational purposes. The displayed works are not subject to copyright or are used on the principle of fair use.
