The Tide exhibition begins with the phenomenon of the tide in Stari Grad, where the sea often crosses the threshold between the coast and the city, overflows over the waterfront, enters narrow streets and taverns, and quietly enters the rhythms of everyday life.

Starting from local experience, the exhibition goes beyond the natural phenomenon of tides to explore it as an aesthetic, social, spatial, and ecological state.

The exhibition develops in three interconnected parts. After the local context of Stari Grad, where the effects of the tides are an integral part of everyday life, it presents the perceptual experiences of the sea as a principle of connection that connects places. The final part of the exhibition broadens the view towards planetary ecology.

Bringing together artists from different European countries, the exhibition stretches through the gallery, the permanent museum exhibition and the public space of the city, moving like the tide itself: it spills over the established borders and erases the differences between art, the city and the sea.
