Researching the direction where the process of work leads and what it is predetermined by through historical reflections is what this work deals with. Work about work is also research; work is a profession and escaping from it is not possible due to the constant occupation with the next step, due to the constant construction and deconstruction of new ideas, their contexts and forms. Because of all of the above, pleasure is a work constant, an occupation of thought. The product itself is not what work strives for, at least not in my case; for me, it is only a moment of defined sentences, but not the end of the flow of thoughts. Thoughts occupied with the possibility of simulation do not allow rest. I am talking about discomfort and a kind of obsession with the process of work. I am interested in where I can take my thoughts through work. It is important for a person to be realized in the possibility of maturation, growth and learning.
The poetic nature of the transparent overlapping of the past and the present defines us through segments of the impressions of the environment. We are exposed and perhaps even more susceptible to influences than we really think we are, in the hope of controlling what we become. Although polemics about predestination have their weight, dealing with the past always intrigues as a significant factor in dealing with what we have and what we are today. The anticipation of the future in the present pushes us further in the search for a direction in which creation can continue, which is not defined by any promising parameters. The path of realization is unique. A glass chair and a glass bed do not provide an opportunity for rest. The idea of this form keeps the observer in endurance and pushes him beyond the limits. Any attempt to rest would be unsuccessful and dangerous. Even within the work itself, there is a need for constant change in order to eliminate the comfort and pleasure that arises from a familiar situation, for example, acquired knowledge and skill.
The second part of the ambient installation – the workspace – as a dowry of the past and the relationship to the craft and its usability, corresponds to the freshness and transparent sharpness of the room in which the danger of rest is the main attribute of the description of unusable forms of furniture. It is very dangerous to rest in today's system of attitude towards work. The overall structure of the process is subject to changes in the case of rest. The study of the shoemaker, my grandfather, with examples of his form of work with impressions of the past, through clogs from childhood related to the walking that continues, pushes the work further and leads us with steps to a dangerous room without the possibility of rest. The sharp swing is a metaphor of a child's carefree sense of security, which in other material seems frightening. Walking is also a way of eliminating back pain, the image of which shows irregularities. Walking, like a meditative work process, reveals new insights. Proper posture when walking is very important as a way to eliminate disc injury. The uncertainty of walking, as well as the work process itself, requires time and endurance.
Is there even a recognizable idea of the feeling of comfort at work and possible pain in the sphere of rest?
Not everyone is good at static, right?

BIOGRAPHY

Tea Ivković was born in 1992 in Zagreb, Republic of Croatia. She graduated in 2011 from the Department of Graphic Arts at the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb and in the same year enrolled in the undergraduate university study of Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb. She spent the winter semester of the academic year 2014/2015 at the Latvijas Mākslas akadēmija, studying as an Erasmus scholar. She is currently studying Graphic Arts in the class of Prof. Mirjana Vodopija.
She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, workshops and art colonies. She has received several awards for her work: in 2012, the Commendation of the Academy Council of the Academy of Fine Arts for her work during the academic year 2011/2012; she received the same recognition for the next academic year, 2013; In 2015, she received the Special Rector's Award for participation in the performance of Boris Papandopulo's opera "Madame Buffault".
