PRESENTATION / COLLECTIVE KVADAR

Presentation and discussion with the KVADAR collective.

The KVADAR collective is a student art collective that operates within the Association of Students of the Academy of Dramatic Art – F420. The KVADAR group consists of art history students Nela Drach, Ela Junaković, Tin Marušić and Emma Sabljić in collaboration with production student Tibor Vukelić and design student Laura Ljubić.

KVADAR strives to bring together students of Zagreb's art academies and connect them with their fellow students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, all with the aim of opening a new and unusual platform for connecting artists, those who curate and study this art, and audiences to whom art is often not directly accessible.

KVADAR is primarily conceived as an event where students of the Academy of Fine Arts will have the opportunity to exhibit their works in a space atypical for fine arts – in a garage.

Designed in the form of a pop-up gallery, in each edition at a new location, in a new space, in a different Zagreb neighborhood, with a different content, Kvadar draws art out of the established gallery and performance spaces.

In 2024, Kvadar had 5 exhibitions. The first exhibition was in Trešnjevka with Astrid Jakšić, then in Donji Grad with Petra Pavetić Kranjčec. The third exhibition was made on the island of Zlarin with Kristina Novosel, in collaboration with the Zlarin street music festival. Then in Vrbik with Lara Kraš and in Trnsko with Lucija Stolnik. In 2025, the artists selected on the basis of the competition will exhibit, and the first of them was Kristina Jozić, whose exhibition was held on Jarun.
