"Here and Now" is a journey in which a re-evaluation is sought, a journey into the unknown depths of our thoughts. The project consists of photographs that evoke a sense of change. Different photographic techniques blur the boundaries of the known. Playfulness in the properties of technique and semiotic meaning subtly gives us the opportunity for a dual interpretation. This playfulness opens up communication between inner emotional rhetoric and visual rhetoric, which opens the way to questioning. Photography becomes a catalyst for the thought of each individual. What we see no longer belongs to "reality", nor is what we see a photographic negative of a "caught" moment. A car accident in controlled conditions is a mechanical representation of reality, recorded entirely with a digital camera. Then the representation of that event in video format is directly projected onto photographic paper for analogue photography. The paper serves as a representation of the moments in the collision/accident during which the flashes of light occurred.

BIOGRAPHY

Nikola Zelmanović was born in 1990 in Zagreb. He was awarded the title of Bachelor of Cinematography and Film and Video Production by the Academy of Dramatic Art of the University of Zagreb. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in photography at the Royal College of Art in London. So far, he has participated in a large number of group exhibitions such as the exhibition "New Names" at the Ulupuh Gallery in Zagreb (2011, 2013); Rovinj Photodays (2011); Erste Fragments 8 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb (2012); Santorini Biennale of Arts in Greece (2012); Industry Photography in Zagreb (2012).
