MORE ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

The exhibition "MI" as part of the interdisciplinary project "Short Circuit" is directly related to the Device_art festival, within which it will be presented at the Šira Gallery from 6 to 11 December 2018, and then at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, and in Split and Rijeka, also as part of the festival program.

During the project, the Šira Gallery becomes an experimental art laboratory in which students go through the process of interdisciplinary research, performance and exhibition of artistic work that combines art and technology.

Students of the constituent parts of the University of Zagreb – the Academy of Fine Arts, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, and the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb jointly designed the concept of artistic work and exhibition guided by the theme of this year's Device_Art festival "Machines are not alone".

The work process is mentored by Iva Ćurić, assistant at the Department of Teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, Igor Brkić, a long-time member of Radiona, the first Croatian makerspace, Tvrtko Mandić, a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Electronics, Microelectronics, Computer and Intelligent Systems at FER, and Luja Šimunović and Klara Petrović, curators of the KONTEJNER | bureau of contemporary art practice.

The exhibition in the Šira Gallery can be viewed until December 11, 2018.
