What is the most important outcome of art education?

What is the difference between an artist and a non-artist?

Thinking about the definition of an artist and the smallest possible qualitative difference between an artist and a non-artist, I came to the conclusion that there is or is no art. It cannot be quantitatively measured or set its exact parameters. It is impossible to make a textbook that would prescribe what art is and what it is not. Textbooks deal with analyses and examples, trying to develop a sense in the reader, a knowledge of what art could be. I would call it a shift. A shift from the usual view of things, giving form to the personal experience of the sensation of life. Art is cognition.

That's what Jasmina has, she has that shift and the realization that things and relationships around us tell a lot of stories and that these stories can have a true representation. The question of truth is a huge philosophical area that is impossible to enter superficially, although I personally believe that truth exists regardless of whether we know it or not. Somehow things are and somehow they were. An artist is in search of truth and if he comes close to it, he has also approached art, because art and the artist is a state, not a title.

Jasmina, speaking of empty abandoned spaces, of silence and absence, is in search of fullness, meaning, spirit and truth. Humor is present, which, in my deep conviction, is one of the important artistic determinants, an element that allows entry into otherwise 'too serious' topics.
She understood the potential of life and the space that surrounds us.
With his experience and progress, he makes it visible to others.

BIOGRAPHY

Jasmina Jakopanec was born in 1992 in Varaždin. She is currently a graduate student of Applied Arts at the Academy of Applied Arts of the University of Rijeka. She has received several diplomas and acknowledgments in the field of photography. In 2013, she won first place in the photography competition Rijeka-My City. Last year, in 2016, she won the Rector's Award for the best student artwork with the work "Composition" and the Academy Award for the best artistic work in the field of new media with the work "Empty Stories". She has participated in over 30 group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. She has volunteered at several festivals as a leader of creative workshops or as a cameraman and editor. She is one of the organizers and leader of the 1st cultural and artistic event "Night of the Academy" as part of the Night of Museums in 2016.
