FLU Beograd / Evening Act

Visiting group exhibition of students of the Faculty of Fine Arts Belgrade

FROM THE PREFACE OF THE EXHIBITION

"Evening Nude" is a mandatory practical course in the second year of basic academic studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts, and is attended by students of all modules – Painting, Sculpture, Graphics and New Media. Classes within the course "Evening Nude" are conducted according to a live model and are based on careful observation, experience and drawing of the naked human body in space. The model is placed in different poses lasting from a few seconds to three hours, which gives students the opportunity for a studious, analytical approach to drawing, but also for quick sketches of different body positions and movements that sharpen perception, develop drawing skills and encourage freedom of expression. Drawing on smaller-format papers (up to B2 format) opens up a wide space for students to experiment creatively, to deal more freely with form and to examine the expressive possibilities of different drawing techniques (graphite pencil, ink and pen, ink, charcoal, watercolor, crayons, pastels, combined techniques, etc.). The course is a link to the subject "Drawing" from the first year of undergraduate academic studies, continuing to further explore and develop the skills of convincing drawing of the human figure in space, with the special aim of developing the personal expression of each student and nurturing drawing as an independent art discipline."
