For decades, the Academy of Fine Arts has been actively participating in the creation of the cultural and artistic program of the City of Zagreb and the Republic of Croatia, and organizes or co-organizes important events for students, teachers, professionals and the general public with the aim of improving artistic work, educational work, improving research conditions for artists and other cultural workers, but also raising the quality of presenting the content of contemporary art.

With the temporary relocation of the Academy of Fine Arts from Ilica 85 to the premises of Jadran Film, the Putolovac Gallery was established at Ilica 112. Keeping part of the Academy of Fine Arts at the location in Ilica was important because of the continuation of communication with the community through projects such as Ilica Q'ART and ALU Perspektiva.

ARTorama Lab

The ARTorama Lab program came out of the Academy in Canvas program. The goal of the program is to affirm interdisciplinarity, the research process in art, to push the boundaries of artistic creativity and to develop critical dialogue.

The Postgraduate Doctoral Study of the Academy of Fine Arts organizes the Discursive Program that integrates the artistic research practice of doctoral students through exhibitions, workshops, lectures and professional conferences.
